Observational Skills in the Workplace
A 10 week course bringing psychoanalytic understanding to ordinary experience
Aim of the course:
To further develop an understanding of unconscious processes through observation and discussion of everyday life in the workplace.
This course involves:
- Participants record detailed observations of ordinary events in the workplace (examples include ordinary meetings, work on shared administrative tasks, a classroom situation).
- The participants bring their observations for discussion in a seminar group.
Safe discussion and learning:
The group is facilitated by an experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapist.
Strict confidentiality is to be observed regarding discussion in the seminar group.
Skill and understanding, not assessment ...
There are no assignments to complete.
Suitable applicants
This course is for those with some understanding of psychoanalytic thinking.
It is open to those who have completed the Severnside's Introductory Course in Psychoanalytic Theories and Concepts, or have equivalent experience and knowledge.
Date and time
This course is not due to run in 2012. Applicants are welcome to enquire now for subsequent courses.
Fees
Course fees to be finalised later. As a guideline, the previous course fee was £200.
